About 6 months ago, I rambled on about shooting the music video for Your Life's In Rewind. It was supposed to happen on the 26th of September 2009 but as we all know, Typhoon Ondoy tore through many parts of Manila and basically screwed things up for a thousands of people, including this tiny little project that's been in the works for far too long.
Yesterday, a small bunch of people drove up to Rizal with me to shoot the video for Rewind. And that we did.. well, part 1 of the video at least. There wasn't supposed to be a part 2 but because of weather and time, we're going to have to go back to the location to shoot the rest of it. I wouldn't say I'm excited about it right now because well, it's not finished yet and I don't know what the finished product looks like. I was really happy with the aesthetics though - the beautiful surrounds of Rizal, the gorgeous-looking car I got to drive and of course, hair and makeup! A lot of roadblocks though, literally and figuratively. Part of the road going to the location was closed so we had to take a detour through the smaller dirt roads. Anyway, apart from the detour, there were other roadblocks. The schedule was delayed and so a lot of scenes had to be cut out. I also wasn't feeling great as I had (and still have) the flu. And then there was rain, rain that shouldn't have come at all since rainy season is over.
It's funny how so many things with this video have gone wrong, from finding someone to actually shoot the video, to changes in location and therefore change in concept, to sponsors backing out, to natural disasters, and now all this with the video shoot. I'm just hoping that all these misfortunes are somehow connected to the giant reward at the end of it, the reward being a fantastic video that I'd be proud to post for all to see. The video won't turn out like the original concept we had intended - we simply ran out of time to shoot it the way we were supposed to. But, we'll make do with what we have.
I'm a little bit anxious about what happens next. Part 2, launch and then what? I suppose I shouldn't look too far ahead. Gotta get part 2 done and dusted first.
